The Port Authority Police Benevolent Association endorsed Assemblywoman Holly Schepisi’s (R-River Vale) Senate bid Friday.
“As union leaders, we fight every day to protect our men and women to ensure they have the resources to protect our communities and to guarantee that they can provide for their families,” PAPBA President Paul Nunziato and Legislative Director Michael Mollahan said in a statement. “As an assemblywoman, you have always supported the mission of law enforcement to protect our communities. We know that you will continue that fight as a New Jersey state senator.”
Schepisi and her former running mate, Assemblyman Bob Auth (R-Old Tappan), are locked in an increasingly acrid primary to succeed late State Sen. Gerald Cardinale.
The New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association endorsed Schepisi earlier Friday.
The Bergen County Republican Organization will convene on March 9 for a special election convention to fill Cardinale’s seat. The senator died late last month. His term expires on Jan. 11, 2022.
