The New Jersey Globe is calling the Democratic primary for State Assembly in the 32nd district for incumbents Angelica Jimenez (D-West New York) and Pedro Mejia (D-Secaucus).

They have defeated their primary opponents, Roger Quesada and Mahmoud Mahmoud.

Jimenez and Mejia will face Republicans Ann Carletta and Francesca Currelli in the general election.

Democrats have held the 32nd district seats since 1987, when they ousted two Republicans elected in the Tom Kean landslide of 1985.  Before that, they last GOP assemblymen from Hudson County were elected on the coattails of Warren G. Harding in 1920.
