Seth Hahn, who spent ten years working for the Communications Workers of America, has joined the Assembly Majority Office staff as deputy executive director.

Hahn will help manage Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin’s political agenda in the statehouse, a job held by Mickey Quinn until he left last year to play a larger role in the South Jersey Democratic world.

“I’m delighted that Seth has agreed to join our staff.  I’ve worked with him during my entire time in the legislature.  He’s bright and talented and able to get things done,” Coughlin told the New Jersey Globe. “That approach will serve him well.  He’s a a welcome addition and we’re fortunate to have his talent.”

A former top political lieutenant of progressive labor leader Hetty Rosenstein, Hahn left the CWA in the fall of 2019 to join NJ United, a non-profit formed to promote Coughlin’s agenda.

Hahn has worked for the Communications Workers of America for ten years and is the New Jersey Legislative and Political Director.  He’s also served as treasurer of the powerful CWA PAC.

He joins the Assembly staff with longtime progressive bonafides as a board member of the New Jersey Working Families Alliance and New Jersey Citizen Action.  He was a Bernie Sanders delegate to the 2016 Democratic National Convention.

After graduating Princeton University in 2004, the Highland Park resident was a field organizer for Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle’s re-election campaign in South Dakota.  He was the national field director for the National Association of Letter Carriers before joining the CWA in 2009.
