Freda Foster, assemblywoman’s mother, dies at 92

Freda Foster, the mother of Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz, died early Thursday morning.

She was 92.

Foster, a retired nurse, worked at Yale New Haven Hospital.

There, she was charge and post-surgical nurse and, later, a head nurse on a respiration/ventilator-dependent floor at Gaylord Rehab hospital in Wallingford, Connecticut.

Foster lived with Munoz for the past year so that the assemblywoman, who is also a nurse, could take care of he as her health declined.

The two were very close.

Foster is survived by five daughters, 19 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Services have not yet been announced.
