State Sen. Michael Doherty (R-Oxford) isn’t concerned that a Hunterdon County commissioner attended the Trump rally that preceded his supporters attack on the Capitol
“She didn’t partake in any of those violent activities. She went down to participate in the event, where there’re so many people,” Doherty said of Commissioner Susan Soloway’s Jan. 6 trip to Washington. “75 million people feel like they have to have election integrity, and she was there supporting that. Who could be against that?”
Soloway attended the rally but told the New Jersey Globe she did not enter the Capitol and left when she saw the chaos beginning.
There’s no indication of any wrongdoing by Soloway, nor are there allegations claiming as much, but her presence at the Trump rally could complicate her bid for re-election to a second term this year.
