State Sen. Kristin Corrado (R-Totowa) isn’t making any snap judgements about Gov. Phil Murphy’s new Supreme Court nominee.
“I look forward to meeting with Fabiana Pierre-Louis and talking with her about her nomination,” the senator said.
Corrado is one of four Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee
Murphy announced his intention to nominate Pierre-Louis, a former federal prosecutor who is now a partner at Montgomery McCracken, for Associate Justice Walter Timpone, who reaches the mandatory retirement age of 70 on November 10.
If confirmed, Pierre-Louis would become the first black woman to serve on the state’s high court.
