Chaparro not ready to announce reelection bid

Assemblywoman Annette Chaparro (D-Hoboken) on Tuesday told the New Jersey Globe she was not ready to announce a reelection bid.

“You are way early. It’s January,” Chaparro said when asked if she was running for reelection. “It doesn’t start up until late February.”

Chaparro has held the seat since winning it in 2015. The district, which covers portions of Hudson County, is safely Democratic.

“Check with me in a few weeks,” Chaparro said. “We’ll see what happens.”
