Assemblyman Clinton Calabrese isn’t ready to endorse a presidential candidate.
“I really don’t,” he said when asked if he had a favorite to take on President Donald Trump. “I saw the debates, and it’s been an interesting debate season because they’re kind of attacking one another, which is sad, but I really have no pick right now.”
As the contest has worn on, candidates have repeatedly turned on frontrunners and those experiencing surges in the polls.
U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg were the most recent targets of such attacks during a debate held earlier this week.
The drama hasn’t disqualified any candidates for Calabrese.
“They’re all good. They’re all well-qualified,” he said. “I think they’d all make great presidents, but I don’t personally have a choice right now.”
