Assembly Minority Leader Jon Bramnick on Thursday declined to say whether he was concerned about independent candidates seeking his seat would siphon votes away from him and his running mate, Assemblywoman Nancy Munoz.
“My position is that I’ve run in many elections. People know me. My district, they’ll make a choice,” Bramnick said.
The assemblyman declined to clarify whether he was concerned about independent candidates affecting the outcome of November’s races.
Harry Pappas, a former Union County Democratic Chairman who became a Springfield Republican township committeeman in the 1990s, is mounting an independent bid in the district as a conservative.
He’s joined by former Scotch Plains Mayor Martin Marks.
