Morris County Republicans re-elected former Assemblywoman Aura Dunn to the seat she held for the last seven weeks of last year Saturday morning.
Dunn was unopposed.
In November, Dunn was elected to fill the Assembly seat vacated by State Sen. Tony Bucco when he took his late father’s seat in the legislature’s upper chamber.
She won that race with 74% of the vote in the first round, defeating five candidates and avoiding a runoff.
Dunn will have to run for the seat again in a special election held this November.
That race will be her fourth for the seat since June, when she mounted an unsuccessful primary bid for former Assemblyman Michael Patrick Carroll’s seat in the legislature.
