NJ GOP leader John Campbell on Jerry Green

By David Wildstein, April 19 2018 12:00 pm

John Campbell, the chairman of the New Jersey African American Republican Coalition, issued a statement today on the death of Assemblyman Jerry Green:

“Assemblyman Green was a mentor, neighbor but most importantly a friend to me and so many others who had the pleasure of knowing him. Jerry was a true political survivor who cut his teeth in Union County politics as a business owner on St. George Ave in Linden & Roselle.  He truly cared for his community and as such had such a positive impact on so many young men and women aspiring to follow in his footsteps.   We are republicans and may not have agreed politically, but we believe in good government first.  Jerry Green exhibited strong leadership and provided great constituent services, often solving many issues with a simple phone call.  Our prayers are with Wanda and the entire Green family during this difficult time.”
