By David Wildstein, November 24 2018 10:30 am

Louis Garubo, who spent 26 years as a Mendham Borough councilman, died on November 20.  He was 73.  He was elected councilman in 1988, defeating incumbent Ruth G. Smith in the Republican primary.

June Kennedy, a former reporter for The (Bergen) Record, died on November 14.  She was 90.  Kennedy also served as the Bernards Town Historian.  She met her husband in 1949 after covering an American Legion meeting to which she was denied entry.

Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that Garubo had Alzheimer’s.
