Deaths: DRBA Commissioner with ties to Harry Truman, Superior Court Judge

Clarence McCormick, a former commissioner of the Delaware River and Bay Authority, died on July 15.  He was 89.  As a U.S. Air Force Lieutenant, he led the security detail for President Harry S. Truman’s airplane, “The Sacred Cow.”  He later served as CEO and Chairman of Farmer’s and Merchants Bank and South Jersey Bancorp.

John Selser, a former Superior Court Judge, died on July 17.  He was 71.  A former president of the Bergen County Bar Association and chairman of the New Jersey Supreme Court Ethics Committee, he was nominated to the bench by Gov. Donald DiFrancesco in 2001 and served until his retirement in 2016.

Connie Moneta, a former member of the Atlantic Highlands Planning Board, died on July 11.  She was 64.  She was a longtime member of the Atlantic Highlands Democratic Club.

David Buckley, a former Rumson school board president, died on July 17.  He was 88.
