In Memoriam: GOP State Committeewoman, deputy mayor

Jean Hall Dinsmore, who became involved in politics as a volunteer for Dwight Eisenhower’s 1952 presidential campaign and later served many years as the Republican State Committeewoman from Morris County, died on August 26.  She was 95.

Dinsmore was elected Florham Park Republican Municipal Chair in 1964 and became the Republican State Committeewoman in 1985.  She retired in 2005.

She also served as Vice Chair of the Morris Township Republican Committee, vice president of the Morris County Women’s Republican Club, and finance chair of the New Jersey Federation of Republican Women.

Jack Brooks, a former deputy mayor of Ringwood, died on September 1.  He was 78.  A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Brooks served as councilman, planning board member, and as a member of the Board of Health in both Ringwood and Vernon.

Grace McGee, a former Member of the Democratic Women’s Committee in Parsippany, died on September 5.  She was 87.
