Deborah Zarin, who served on the Alloway Township Board of Education and as an administrative assistant to the Salem County Sheriff, died on September 8 after a two-year battle with breast cancer.  She was 59.

Richard Gove, a retired public school teacher and the brother of Assemblywoman DiAnne Gove, died on September 10.  He was 77.

Robert Levins, a former Stone Harbor councilman, died on August 20.  He was 77.  A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Levins served as a Philadelphia police inspector.

Linda Jean Bennett, a former Bergen Record reporter, died on September 12. She was 79.

Robert Kraemer, a former Milltown school board member, died on September 13.  He was 84.

Mark Urban, who served as chairman of the Bayonne Zoning Board member for over 20 years, died on September 16.  He was 65. Urban spent 20 years working for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority.

Genevieve Gannon, the mother of Morris County Sheriff James Gannon, died on September 3.  She was 92.
