Gov. Phil Murphy has picked up the endorsement of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local One.

“Governor Murphy’s support for organized labor, his support for the elevator/escalator/moving walks (EEMW) licensing and appointments to this committee will protect every person in New Jersey that rides an EEMW,” said Denis Kilduff, the union’s vice president and business agent.”

The union praised Murphy’s support for collective bargaining rights, infrastructure investments, and efforts to end worker misclassification in the construction industry.

“New Jersey can only be stronger and fairer when we stand with our union brothers and sisters who make our economy run,” Murphy said.  “Together, we’ll continue to create and protect good-paying, union jobs that will build our state’s future.”

The union represents about 3,000 workers who live in New Jersey and New York.
