Rex Bailey, a two-term member, and former president of the Kinnelon Board of Education died of complications related to COVID-19 on February 4.  He was 88. Bailey was a U.S. Army veteran and worked as a speechwriter for several Army generals.

Terry McStravick
, who served as a judge of the United States Merit Systems Protection Board for more than 40 years, died on January 27.  He was 78.

Eva Hughes, a former Ewing Republican Municipal Chair, died on February 4.  She was 100.

Jack McGarry. Jr., a former East Orange police detective sergeant who later worked or the Essex County Prosecutor’s office, died on February 8.  He was 69.  He served in the U.S> Army Reserve and was a member of Steel Metal Workers Union Local 10

Enrico Prata, a retired teacher who was appointed to the State Council on Adult Literacy Education Services by Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, died on February 5.  He was 75.  Emigrating to the United States from Italy at age 11, Prata survived the sinking of the Andrea Doria in 1956.
