Alice Curtis Webb Jennings, who became the first woman to run for Borough Council in Oceanport in 1962, passed away on April 23.  She was 90.  She challenged Mayor Edward Wilson in 1963 and lost by a 2-1 margin, and ran again in 1964, losing after her name remained on the ballot following her moving out of town.
