Jacob Mathenius, a former Pohatcong councilman, died on February 7. He was 91. Mathenius served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked for the New Jersey Department of Agriculture as a Bee Culture inspector. He was the chairman of the Warren County Soil Conservation District and served on the boards for Farmland Preservation and the New Jersey State Mosquito Commission.
Dale Moreau Killinger, whose family owned the Hunterdon County Democrat, an influential daily newspaper, died on February 2. She was 92.
Lou Marturana, a former PSEG executive who was active in the New Jersey Business and Industry Association, died on February 6. He was 87. Marturana served in the U.S. Army Counterintelligence Corps. He served as a member of the New Jersey Engineering Manpower Commission.
