Carol Cerf, the mother of former New Jersey Commissioner of Education Christopher Cerf, died on December 23.  She was 91.  Cerf had worked as an administrator of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, and was a health policy consultant and author.  Her father, William Montgomery McGovern, was viewed as the inspiration for the Indiana Jones character.

Charles Philip Murray, Jr.
, a former mayor and councilman of Medford Lakes, died on December 30.  He was 80.

Albert Bolter, a former member of the Oradell Board of Education, died on January 5.  He was 85.  Bolter was a former teacher and school administrator in Paramus and served as a trustee of the Oradell Library.
