James Moriarty, a former Dumont Mayor, died on September 21.  He was 82.  Moriarty served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1958 and on the Dumont Borough Council from 1974 to 1986 and as Mayor from 1988 to 1991.  He served on the Planning Boards in Dumont and New Milford, and on the Zoning Boards in New Milford and Edgewater.  He later served on the Mansfield Environmental Commission.

Edward Gyenge, a former Florence Township Councilman, died on September 24.  He was 82.  Gyenge as a U.S. Navy veteran.

Constance Wandras, the mother-in-law of Harrison Mayor James Fife, died on September 23.  She was 92.

Thomas Behr, who spent 20 years on the Long Hill Planning and Zoning Boards, died on September 11.  He was 79.

James
West, a Hoboken native who ran for Boston City Councilman and Massachusetts State Representatives, died on September 14.   He was 84.  West is a U.S. Army veteran and worked in the Boston City Tax Assessors office.
