Dr. Arthur Factor, a former member of the New Jersey State Arts Council, died on May 6.  He was 86.  He was appointed to the Arts Council in 1991 when Gov. Jim Florio named him to replace the longest-serving member, Ocean County Republican State Committeeman Franklin Fischer, in 1991.  The Highland Park Democrat became vice chairman when Gov. Jim Florio took office.

Louise Manton, who spent 21 years as the assistant treasurer for Franklin Township, died on May 7.  She was 89.  Manton served on the Gloucester County Republican county committee.
