Former Hamilton, Green Brook mayors dies

Fred Gmitter, a former Hamilton Township mayor and Mercer County freeholder, died on January 17.  He was 82.  A retired teacher in Trenton, he served on the Hamilton Board of Education and as a councilman.  He later served on the Mercer County Parks Commission.

Kenneth Herrmann, a former Green Brook mayor, passed away on January 19 after a lengthy illness.  He was 57.   Herrmann became mayor in 2010 after Republicans regained control of the township committee after losing it in the 2008 election.  He was spent eighteen years in local government.
