Assemblyman’s father, Judge, die

Valentine Stuhltrager, a former Deptford township councilman, passed away on March 26.  He was 89, After serving in the U.S. Army, he spent 33 years with Conrail.  He was elected councilman in 1991 and his bid for re-election in 1995. His son, Gary Stuhltrager, served on the Gloucester County Board of Freeholders and in the New Jersey State Assembly from 1986 tro 2002.

James Walsh, a retired New Jersey Superior Court Judge, died on March 26.  He was 93. He was active in Republican politics in Union County before becoming municipal attorney in Scotch Plains and Berkeley Heights before Gov. Thomas Kean appointed him to the bench in 1984.  He was a World War II veteran.

Jane Doyle, a former member of the Hunterdon County Republican Committee, died on March 27.  She was 94.
