Rev. David L. Bailey, Sr., the father of freshman Assemblyman Dave Bailey (D-Woodstown), died on February 8. He was 88. A Methodist minister and radio host, Bailey founded the non-profit Ranch Hope ministry in 1962.
Stephen Burke, a former aide to Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-Harding), died on February 12. He was 49. He worked in Frelinghuysen as a district outreach representative, and then on Capitol Hill as an assistant press secretary. While in college, he worked on the New Hampshire GOP presidential primaries of Pat Buchanan in 1992 and Steve Forbes in 1996, on Tom Kean, Jr.’s 2000 congressional campaign in NJ-7, and on Rick Lazio’s U.S. Senate race against Hillary Clinton. He later served as vice president of the Virginia-based Pinkston Group.
Lorraine Granese, a former Hamilton Township (Atlantic County) mayor and township committeewoman, died on February 10. She was 76.
Marion Price, a former Metuchen councilwoman, died on February 13, She was 66 and the wife of Edison Municipal Court Judge Gary Price.
Joseph Sisco, who served two terms as a Little Falls councilman, died on February 14. He was 75. Sisco was a Deacon in the Diocese of Paterson, and a parochial school educator.
Albert DiBartolemo, a former Somerdale councilman who served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, died on February 14. He was 92.
Carol Torre, a commissioner of the Asbury Park Housing Authority and a trailblazer of the city’s gay community, died on February 11. She was 78.
Jason Clark, the president of the Sterling High School Board of Education in Somerdale, died on February 11. He was 46.
Louis Pizzo, who served on the Deerfield Township school board and on the Cumberland County Vocational Board of Education, died on February 11. He was 78.
Kathleen Field, who spent 25 years working for the Hudson County Board of Elections, died on February 10. She was 88.
Shirley Glanding, a former planning board member in Absecon, died on February 10. She was 94.
John Luca, a former zoning board member in Hammonton and member of the Carpenters Union Local 623, died on February 14. He was 76.
