A super PAC allied with Jack Ciattarelli launched a new Inauguration Day digital ad calling Bill Spadea a “hypocrite on immigration.”
The Kitchen Table Conservatives ad, “Committed,” uses a 2018 clip from Spadea’s old WWOR-TV show, “Chasing News,” where he comes out in favor of immigration amnesty and path to citizenship as a way of driving a wedge between Spadea and Trump supporters who vote in New Jersey Republican primaries.
“Today, President Trump begins the work of securing our border. He deserves a Governor he can work with – and that’s just not Bill Spadea. Spadea’s admitted he’s on the wrong side of the issue – and it hasn’t stopped him from repeatedly and consistently calling for amnesty for illegal immigrants,” Kitchen Table Conservatives said in a statement today. “Spadea cannot be trusted to work with President Trump to keep our families safe.”
Script: (Voiceover) Finally, we have a president committed to secure our border. Yet Bill Spadea thinks we should let millions of illegals in. (Bill Spadea) I’m a little more liberal than my conservative friends on it – I do believe in amnesty and a pathway to citizenship. It is time that we talk about a pathway to citizenship for people who are here, and they are undocumented. (Voiceover). President Trump says (Donald Trump) You have to send them all back. (Voiceover) Spadea says, (Spadea) I do believe in amnesty and a pathway to citizenship. (Voiceover) It’s just more BS from Bill Spadea.”
