A new Stockton University poll shows Gov. Phil Murphy with a 9-point lead over Republican Jack Ciattarelli, 50%-41%, in a poll of likely voters released on Thursday.

Without leaners, Murphy’s lead is 48%-40%.

“When you consider that this poll was taken after the gubernatorial debates were done, it appears that voters’ feelings are fairly baked in at this point,” said pollster John Froonjian. “The polling spread between the candidate is very consistent.”

Murphy has favorables of 49%-44%, while Ciattarelli is at 38%-37% with 19% of voters still unfamiliar with the GOP nominee for Governor.

A Monmouth University poll released on Wednesday put Murphy’s lead at 11 points.

Stockton shows the college sports gambling referendum positioned to be rejected, with 51% of the state saying they will vote no and 37% indicating their support.

The Stockton poll was in the field for nine days and some data is as much as eleven days old.

The poll was conducted between October 16-27 with sample of 522 likely voters and a margin of error of +/- 4.3%.
