Republican State Chairman Doug Steinhardt says that growing reports of computer glitches with the New Jersey’s voter registration database that have resulted in some voters receiving two ballots and the New Jersey Motor Vehicles Commission is incorrectly assigning party registration when transferring data.

“Phil Murphy’s failures keep mounting. By forcing New Jersey into an ill-advised VBM scheme, he continues to erode the fundamental precepts of democratic governance,” Steinhardt said.  “To combat it and promote election integrity, New Jersey Democrats are advocating for Election Day audits and the NJGOP is calling for federal monitors.

Murphy objected to Steinhardt’s call for the U.S. Attorney’s office to monitor the July 7 primary election that his being conducted primarily through vote-by-mail balloting.

“While the Governor has proven adept at passing out political patronage, parrying press calls, and plain old pandering, he’s proven equally inept at actually governing,” Steinhardt said.
