Rob Matos Moran has been promoted to senior legislative aide on Gov. Phil Murphy’s legislative affairs team.
The move comes two years after he joined the governor’s outreach team, dealing with education, housing and human services issues, and with Latino stakeholders.
Matos Moran will now switch to the legislative affairs team, working with the office’s director, Emy Quispe. He’ll continue to work for Tim Hillmann, who is deputy chief of staff for government affairs, and Assad Akhter, the senior director of the office.
This puts Matos Moran inside the governor’s bid to pass his budget over the next two months.
The son of immigrants from Portugal and Peru, Matos Moran has worked for U.S. Senator Bob Menendez and Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-Ewing).
