A new ad from former State Senate President Steve Sweeney (D-West Deptford)’s gubernatorial campaign doesn’t take any shots at his five Democratic opponents, per se – but it does spell out why voters should choose him instead.
The ad, “The Difference,” starts out by showing ads aired by his opponents before cutting to Sweeney’s own accomplishments: his successful efforts in the state legislature to raise the minimum wage and reduce the retirement tax, his endorsements from labor unions, and his plan to be a “tough on crime” governor.
According to Sweeney’s campaign, the ad will air on broadcast television, streaming, and digital platforms as part of a seven-figure ad buy. It’s the sixth ad Sweeney has aired thus far during New Jersey’s unpredictable, increasingly expensive gubernatorial primary.
“While other Democrats talk about what they want to do, Steve Sweeney is the only candidate with a track record of getting things done,” Sweeney’s campaign said.
