Don’t expect Gov. Phil Murphy to make his presidential pick anytime soon.
“I’m not planning on any endorsements right now,” the governor said Wednesday. “But if that changes, I’ll let you know.”
While a growing number of prominent New Jersey Democrats sided with former Vice President Joe Biden, the frontrunner for the Democratic nod to take on President Donald Trump, most politicking has taken a backseat amid the COVID-19 crisis.
Murphy has steered clear of the presidential fray since U.S. Sen. Cory Booker (D-Newark) dropped out of the race in January.
With Murphy on the sidelines, most of the state’s Democratic county organizations have endorsed Biden.
