Gov. Phil Murphy has endorsed Cory Booker for the Democratic presidential nomination.

“Cory Booker ran toward the toughest problems and has fought to build a more just and fair nation for everyone, from his days on the Newark City Council, as mayor, and as a U.S. Senator. He’ll make an amazing President,” Murphy said in a tweet this morning.

Murphy’s endorsement comes one year before he is scheduled to assume the chairmanship of the Democratic Governor’s Association.  One Democratic governors are mulling bid for the presidency: Jay Inslee of Washington.
