Gov. Phil Murphy won’t be flying to Milwaukee for next month’s Democratic National Convention.
“I’m not going to Milwaukee,” Murphy said. “I can say that definitively, at least as of everything I know right now.”
The Democratic National Committee is set to hold its convention in Wisconsin’s largest city Between Aug. 17 and Aug. 20.
The convention will be held mostly through virtual means, with many of the event’s speakers delivering addresses remotely, though former Vice President Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, will attend in-person.
As chair of the Democratic Governors Association, Murphy holds a position of national prominence within the party.
“I know the DNC has not put their plans out completely, based on what we know it should be an exciting, largely-virtual event,” Murphy said.
