Helmy Departure: Joe DiVincenzo

Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo issued the following statement today on the departure of George Helmy as Gov. Phil Murphy’s chief of staff:

“We are saddened by the departure of George Helmy as the Governor’s Chief of Staff. Being Chief of Staff to the Governor is highly demanding and time-consuming, but George handled the role with the utmost professionalism and grace. He may have cringed every time he saw our phone numbers, but he answered every call, responded to all our questions and made sure Essex County and our residents were taken care of. Although he worked for the Governor, George was always Putting Essex County First.”
