Helmy Departure: Eddie Donnelly

New Jersey FMBA President Eddie Donnelly issued the following statement today on the departure of George Helmy as Gov. Phil Murphy’s chief of staff:

“During COVID’s darkest days, despite being pushed to the limits, New Jersey’s first responders never waivered, and George Helmy recognized this, always making sure the safety of those of us defending our communities was at the forefront of all planning and policy strategies.  When the NJFMBA advocates for any legislative change, on any issue, all we ask is that elected officials, and by extension key staff, are willing to hear the views of the more than 6,000 firefighters, EMTs, and dispatchers we represent. George always gave that courtesy, and for that we are grateful.  We wish George luck in his future endeavors.”
