New Jersey Commissioner of Health Shereef Elnahal has no plans to challenge State Sen. Chris Brown (R-Ventnor) when the freshman Republican senator seeks re-election in 2021, Elnahal told the New Jersey Globe Wednesday.
“That was never a consideration for me,” Elnahal said, referring to the prospect of challenging Brown. “I have a great job now leading health and health issues in the state, working for the Murphy administration, and I’m committed to doing that.”
Elnahal is from Linwood in Atlantic County.
Prior to joining the Murphy administration, he served Assistant Deputy Undersecretary for Health in the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. He was a White House fellow in the Obama administration.
