Tedesco was re-elected on November 6 by a margin of 73,162 votes, a 63%-37% victory over Republican Norman Schmelz, the mayor of Bergenfield.  He carried 65 of Bergen County’s 70 municipalities, losing only Franklin Lakes, Hillsdale, Ho-Ho-Kus, Old Tappan and Rockleigh.

A former mayor of Paramus, Tedesco ousted incumbent Kathleen Donovan in 2014.
