Former Rep. Steven Rothman (D-Englewood) has a fascinating take on Rep. Ilhan Omar’s accusation that Members of Congress support a pro-Israel agenda because the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) funds their campaigns.
“She should be referred to the House Ethics Committee for suggesting that her colleagues in the House vote for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship because they have been bribed,” Rothman said.
Rothman, who strongly condemned Omar’s comments as hate-inspiring and factually erroneous, represented New Jersey in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1997 to 2013.
