A Democratic congresswoman’s controversial, anti-Israel comments have upset Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff).
On Sunday, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minnesota) said that Republican support for Israel is motivated by campaign contributions from pro-Israel organizations like AIPAC.
“For nearly two weeks, Rep. @IlhanMN has avoided meeting with me to discuss why anti-Semitic tropes like these are hurtful to so many Americans. There is absolutely no place for this rhetoric in Congress — or anywhere,” Gottheimer tweeted early this morning.
AIPAC released a statement following Omar’s comments.
“We are proud that we are engaged in the democratic process to strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship. Our bipartisan efforts are reflective of American values and interests. We will not be deterred in any way by ill-informed and illegitimate attacks on this important work,” AIPAC said.

I listened to his interview on NPR this morning. He mentioned the old crap: Palestinian terrorism, suicide bombing, etc. to justify Israel’s apartheid system on Palestinians. Pathetic.
