Walter Kennedy, once a top lawyer at the non-partisan New Jersey Office of Legislative Services, passed away on November 30. He was 84.
Kennedy was a former deputy legislative counsel and principal staff counsel at OLS prior to his retirement in 1989. He spent nearly three decades in state government. He served under Samuel Alito, the father of the U.S. Supreme Court Justice, who headed OLS for years.
He also served in local government in his hometown as Harrison Town Attorney and municipal prosecutor.
Kennedy was a graduate of Seton Hall University and Seton Hall Law School
Visitation will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the Armitage Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny. Mass will be at 10 AM Friday at the Holy Cross Church in Harrison.
