Assemblyman Jay Webber said on Thursday that he would throw his support behind whichever candidate won the Republican nomination if he lost – but he doesn’t think it will come to that.
“Yea, I don’t expect to lose the primary, but our mission is to hold that seat,” Webber said. “So, we’ll do everything we can to hold that seat.”
In his primary, Webber faces a wide field of candidates vying to take retiring Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen’s seat.
The toughest challenges come from self-funder Peter DeNeufville and Bank of America Executive Antony Ghee. Also Running are former Kean administration official Patrick Allocco and attorney Martin Hewitt.
