By David Wildstein, January 18 2019 11:30 am

Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-Dennis) has been named to the House Agriculture Committee, an assignment that positions him to advocate for farmers in his South Jersey district.

“I am proud to have earned a seat on the committee that shapes our nation’s agricultural priorities,” Van Drew said. “The Agriculture Committee was one of my top committee choices because it will give me the platform to be an even stronger leader for our hard-working farmers in South Jersey.”

Van Drew said that Agriculture is New Jersey’s third-largest industry, and New Jersey’s 2nd district is dependent on blueberry, cranberry, tomato, corn and lettuce crops.
