The state branch of the SEIU endorsed U.S. Sen. Bob Menendez and every Democratic House candidate in New Jersey on Monday.
“Senator Menendez has been an unwavering ally of Labor. He understands and works to advance an agenda that benefits working families in New Jersey—one that makes a priority of affordable, quality healthcare and decent wages and working conditions,” said Wilfredo Larancuent, president of the SEIU New Jersey State Council. “We need his voice in the Senate, especially now. There is too much at stake.”
The service workers union represents more than 23,000 public and private employees in the state.
In a statement, Larancuent cited healthcare and opposition to the Trump administration as being among the top reasons for the organization’s endorsement of Democrats.
