The National Association of Realtors says they have taken steps to remove digital advertisements in support of Rep. Leonard Lance (R-Clinton) from video games following a New Jersey Globe report that the ads appeared on an iPhone game called Wiz Khalifa’s Weed Farm.
“We have asked our consultant to take extra precaution so ads don’t pop up on games,” said Wesley Shaw, a spokesman for the association.
The Realtors are investing heavily in the re-election of the five-term Republican congressman. Recent reports filed with the Federal Election Commission show they have already spent $746,669 on Lance’s campaign, including $272,308 on direct mail and $61,000 on digital and online ads.
Lance faces Democrat Tom Malinowski, a former Assistant U.S. Secretary of State in the Obama administration.
Recent independent polls put the race within the margin of error.
