Progressive group endorses Malinowski

By David Wildstein, May 31 2018 1:31 pm

Action Together New Jersey (ATNJ), a progressive grassroots group has endorsed Tom Malinowski for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th district.

The endorsement could help Malinowski add votes in his primary campaign against two rivals who have struck a more progressive platform: attorney Goutam Jois and 2016 candidate Peter Jacob.

“Tom’s deep experience in working with members of Congress means he will hit the ground running from Day 1. In today’s highly partisan politics, we need someone who has the experience, wisdom, and respect of Members of Congress to get things done for the citizens of NJ 7,”  said Rielly Karsh, ATNJ Central Regional Director.  “His resolve to repeal and replace the Republican tax bill that is so harmful to our district, to fight for affordable health care, to protect our environment, to invest in our infrastructure, to advance women’s rights, and to defend our democracy at home are all progressive values that align with Action Together New Jersey’s members. As a progressive grassroots group, we are proud to endorse a candidate that reflects our values and we will work hard to get Tom elected to represent us.”

The winner of the Democratic primary is expected to face five-term Republican Leonard Lance in the general election.
