Passaic goes for McCann in 5th district

By David Wildstein, March 15 2018 7:21 pm

John McCann has defeated Steve Lonegan to run on the organization line for Congress in Passaic County.  McCann, a Bergen County attorney, beat Lonegan by a vote of 19-4.

McCann and Lonegan, a former Bogota mayor, are competing for the chance to challenge freshman Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) in New Jersey’s 5th district.  Passaic has two towns, Ringwood and West Milford, in the district.  In 2016, the Passaic portion accounted for 8% of the total vote in the Republican congressional primary.
