Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson) raised $238,190 during the first three months of 2019 and has a warchest of more than $1.7 million, a strong showing for a congressman from a safe district.
According to the Pascrell campaign, this is a personal record-setting quarterly fundraising haul for the sixteen-term Democrat. During the first quarter of 2017, he raised $128,039.
In 2012, Pascrell spent more than $2.9 million to win the Democratic primary in New Jersey’s 9th district after a new map pitted him against a fellow Democrat, eight-term incumbent Steve Rothman (D-Englewood).
“Bill Pascrell is working every single day to defend quality health care from Republican attacks, provide tax fairness, and challenge Trump lawlessness,” said Ben Rich, a spokesman for the campaign. “To take on the most corrupt President in American history, Garden Staters know they need their best fighter at home and in Washington. Bill Pascrell is that fighter and he’s got New Jersey’s back.”
