The National Republican Congressional Committee is up with a new digital ad that targets Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes) by tagging him with the increasing cost of everything from “gas to groceries.”
The ad, “Sticker Shock,” is airing in 15 congressional districts across the U.S. where Republicans think a Democratic House member might be vulnerable in 2022.
The NRCC did not disclose how much they are spending on the digital ad.
Malinowski, who was re-elected last year by just 1% of the vote, faces a rematch with Republican Tom Kean, Jr., the minority leader of the New Jersey State Senate.
In New Jersey, the ad is running only in the 7th district.
Republicans cited a recent NRCC poll suggesting that 70% of voters in battleground congressional districts are concerned about rising prices, especially groceries and food.
“Inflation is a tax on every single American and is a direct result of Democrats’ reckless spending,” said Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minnesota), the NRCC chairman. “We are going to ensure voters know that Democrats are responsible for the higher costs they are paying for just about everything.”
