New Kim ad hits MacArthur on health care contributions

Andy Kim released a new ad on Monday attacking Rep. Tom MacArthur over $400,000 in campaign contributions the congressman took before and after he authored an amendment to the doomed American Health Care Act in 2017.

“Feel like Republicans can’t hear you? It’s because our voices are drowned out by corporate and special interest money, like the healthcare repeal bill. Republicans took millions from corporations who profit off the bill,” Kim says in the ad as a man in a money booth grasps at bills. “Look at Tom MacArthur, he took over $400,000 from drug and insurance special interests and wrote their bill.”

MacArthur has received $297,546 in campaign contributions from those in the insurance and pharmaceutical industries in 2018. In 2016, he received $149,053 in contributions from the same.

Kim then pivots, reiterating his pledge to not take corporate PAC money.
