You’ve got to at least admire the guy for trying.
Republican congressional candidate John Muniz, who is challenging Rep. Albio Sires (D-West New York) in New Jersey’s 8th district, has raised $800 as of September 30, according to campaign finance reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.
His numbers don’t add up perfectly, but it’s not like anyone will worry about it.
Muniz is reporting cash-on-hand of $220, and a debt of $350 in the form of a loan the candidate made to his campaign.
His lone donor is his wife, Ivette, a legal secretary at New York University, who have $700. Muniz has put $100 of his own money into the race.
The GOP candidate spent his entire warchest on a $700 magazine article with Rev. Fernando Plaza in Jersey City.
Muniz is the pastor at the Second Reformed Church in Jersey City.
